Thirty-nine-year-old Shelly Koontz was arrested Thursday night on a fifth-degree theft charge. She is accused of keeping “The Freedom Writers Diary,” which she checked out from the public library in nearby Jesup in April.

Police say the book — which is about a high school teacher’s effort to inspire students to write — is valued at $13.95.

Court records show library employees tried repeatedly to contact Koontz by phone and mail. A police officer even visited her home last September.

Officials at the Buchanan County jail say Koontz was released after posting $250 bond. No telephone listing for Koontz could be found in the Independence area.

I just said one Bear with me- why would a bear be with you anyway. By the time you could get the words out, you would be gone. Why would thoose be your last words anyway, I would say tell my family I love them or oops I guess you die if jump off a bridge. And who would be there to record it anyway. So it’s just stupid.

Thank you- Wouldn’t be better to say I love this gift or thanks for holding the door. The thank is okay but why say you. Thank your kindness would be better (or even just thanks) Again stupid.

Bless you- why in the world would you say bless you when you sneeze. Your spit coming out isn’t holy water (even though sometimes it does spray someone or people.) My guess why we say this is because when some people sneeze it sounds like ‘bless you’. I bet a kid came up with that one, (but for adults to use it is stupid)

Cat got your tongue- Maybe when this was invented a cat really did have the person’s tongue. So here is how I picture this stiuation.

“I wonder what happens when we starve a cat that likes weird meats, and are the only thing in a closed in room.”

So then the cat tries to eat the person’s tongue. And when a person notices the mean animal starver can’t talk because the cat has their tongue. They say “The cat got your tongue.”

1. People are nicer to each other.

2. Darker at night so I can get to sleep earlier.

3. Do not have to put pop in the refrigerator (it can stay in the garage).

4. Doors don’t stick in the jam.

5. Birds migrate= do not have to buy as much bird food and they don’t wake you up in the morning

5 things bad:

1. Pretty Leaves are gone

2. Christmas movies take up regular year round programing (do not get me wrong I do love the Christmas movies, I just like other non- Christmas shows too)

3. Salt trucks= make you have to get your vehicle washed AND they go really slooooow an the road

4. Most people are short on cash (which is now all the time now but still) $$$$$$$$$$$$$

5. Holiday cards take up mailbox space

Obvious- Good

1. Holidays= Christmas, New Years, etc.

2. Snow= snowball fights, sledding, etc.

3. Family, Friends and people are around

Obvious- Bad

1. Heating Bills cost a lot of dollars $$$$$$$

2. Roads are slick, and sometimes closed

3. Cold is very well cold

Obvious- Both Good and Bad

1. Kids are out of school (Good for students and school staff. Bad for parents)
